A note about traffic and the best way to approach the show – each year the traffic gets heavier and there are times where Holland Road becomes almost one way. We encourage people to pull off the side of the road, but if it rains that can become muddy as well.

To try and make the traffic flow better, we have started to put more decorations into our backyard so that it has good viewing from all sides. This is still a work in progress, but we encourage people to come around the back of our house from England Avenue to Powell Drive. You can start your viewing on Powell Drive and then turn right on Holland to complete your viewing experience!

    ABOUT OUR FAMILY

We are the Deitrichs! We started this light show years ago when our daughter was born. For years we loved visiting the light show on Lake Wheeler Road, and when it stopped, we decided to create our own. Each year it gets a little bigger … we started with a pre-made music controller with songs that were pre-programmed and about 500 lights. It kept growing each season (now we have over 25,000 lights), and then we built our own controller system so we could create our own custom song mixes. After that, we started adding the New Years Eve Light Show which features fun dance music set to strobing lights as a way to end the holiday season!

We are thrilled that it’s become a community event now, and been covered by everything from the local TV stations to the Associated Press! We love giving back to the community, so if you feel lead to donate to the charities that we support please see that info below.

Jesus is the reason we celebrate this season. Love came to earth so that we could learn how to love each other better.

    Merry Christmas y’all!

we support local charities each year as a way to give back to the community through our light show. We have a donation box at the show for toys and non-perishable food, but if you’d prefer to give a cash donation you can do that through CashApp or Venmo as well. We’ve provided the links below. Please note in the description which area you’d like your donation to go to (see below)

    Charities we’ve helped:

We always want to have this light show for free, but we do spend quite a bit of money each year setting it up and adding new features. Some people have asked how they can donate directly to the light show costs – you can use the same CashApp / Venmo links but just notate that it’s for the light show 🙂
